Walk Along the Beach in Boca Del Rio on a RED Hot Day

Yesterday, I was heading into town—from our home about 7.5 miles north to San Pedro town—when the golf cart just stopped. Not suddenly, thank god! But the power…the propulsion gave up, and I coasted to a stop about 4 miles north of town. I locked the cart on the side of the road, hopped a ride with a passing neighbor to town, dropped the cart keys with our mechanic, and started walking.

A red hot sweaty late morning, I stuck to the sea for the breeze. And here’s what I saw.

The town is working on a replenishment/reclamation project in the town center. To bring back some of the beach.

Trying to fill in areas that don’t have sea walls and have been eaten away by erosion.

Walking along the beautiful seawall at The Phoenix Resort. (A closer look – it’s one of the best on the island)

And then the Dream Catcher pier with Cool Beans restaurant – so good for breakfast…so good for every meal.

Good grief it was hot…and apparently…this golf cart life has me soft. I was SWEATING.

I saw a window open at a little stall/cafe called Fresh Express. There, slices of banana bread and brownies were for sale. I grabbed a brownie (delicious) and took a look at the menu. And the view.

I NEED to try this stewed chicken panini – how delicious does this sound?!

The friendly gentleman inside told me I can even Whatsapp my order ahead of time. ILL BE BACK! Here is the link to their Facebook page.

My final destination – GoFish Belize. To chat with Marisela Marin about the upcoming fishing tournament – I’ll fill you guys in later.

I LOVE their doorbell. Salt n Peppa. Takes me right back to High School.

Who’s there? Salt-n-Pepa here, and we’re in effect

I’m off to the GORGEOUS Pine Ridge region of Belize – and Hidden Valley Wilderness Lodge in a few hours. Over 7000 acres. And a new restaurant with Chef Sean Kuylen. I can’t wait. My last trip there in 2017.

This perfect match for this heat is an icy mountain waterfall. WOOHOO!

Cool! Any updates on iguana rescue?

It’s been massively downsized as BEL cut down a large swath of mangroves. But CZalvin’s still running the sanctuary and keeping the iguanas as safe and happy as he can.

My husband and I have stayed at Hotel Del Rio a few times and we love Fresh Express ! The owner Scott and his wife Kim are wonderful people. The food is amazing and you cant beat sitting at the picnic table watching the sunrise as you sip a delicious coffee.
We can’t wait to get back !
