Located in the Stann Creek District
Home to the world’s longest side walk…or so many think…
Placencia is located on a long thin peninsula and home to plenty of happening bars, restaurants and hotels as well as expats. With a sleepier, more laid back vibe than Ambergris Caye, Placencia is still a very popular tourist destination for snorkelers, divers and those who just love the beach.
It’s also way more than the village at the tip of the peninsula…there are cayes, there is Seine Bight and smaller communities like Maya Beach.
Fly from Belize International Airport or take the long slow but scenic route that just might include the Hokey Pokey ferry. Love it.
You can go on land tours like the very cool banana farm or the beautiful cayes or to see manatees and wild life on the Monkey River Tour. You have TONS of options.
