Estel’s Dine by the Sea originally announced TODAY as the opening date…it was apparent when I rolled up yesterday for a sneak preview that would not be the case.
If you don’t know Estel’s from visiting the island or the 100 photos of my breakfast that I have posted all over social media or the gushing that has been done by many…here are some quick picks.
It is also an unofficial San Pedro House of Culture. A landmark.
It oozes personality and island kitsch…which isn’t even needed with this view. But is very much appreciated.
But for more gushing, you can see my many posts below. Here is what I saw yesterday, one day before the proposed opening date. CHANGES!
The “family table” is now a bar area. And there is a floor! With all the sand swept out…Guatemalan marble! Who would have guessed?
The view is still stunning…
The bar will open on the outside…
They have treasures untold, how many wonders can one building hold? Signs from just about everywhere. I hope they all find their places back inside.
Yes…even Charo.
Sam sanding down the cash register area…
That was the state of things yesterday, Tuesday, October 6th. Open date is Friday. 6am. And may I make one tiny request?
Please! Conch chowder on the special’s board? I’ll be in for lunch.
Oh, I do understand the need for change, but are these up coming changes really needed?
they sure werent , in my mind.
It is the best breakfast place on the island
Marble? Seriously????? Next thing you know, Pedro will be building a water slide & park.
lol
and you DO know they are the only place on the island to properly do eggs sunnyside up, evidenced by your images (that make me drool, by the way)
hmmmmmm…. i thaught i saw a bass player…..>?
