Okay, okay, OKAY! I know that technically I am the SANPEDROscoop and some of you just want to see and hear Ambergris Caye. Fried chicken in Belize City? Art in Placencia? Pffft.
I guess it makes some sense. Ambergris Caye was, after all, just named TRIPADVISOR’S Travelers Choice BEST ISLAND IN THE WORLD. For the 2nd year in a row.
So let me show you what it’s like to travel to a dentist appointment in the great place on earth.
My dentist is located about 4 miles north of town, just south of Las Terrazas Resort, so I need to hop on the Coastal Express Water Taxi.
My boat dropped me off at my dentist’s residence/rental home Blue Dolphin to continue on north.
And then to the side and towards the back, my dentist.
Joan and Mark are from Minnesota but have owned property (including the Conch Shell Inn) and have been coming to San Pedro forever.
I passed under the buoy tree and the little “parking lot”…
Thru the front door into the office which is as modern as any dentist’s office that I’ve been to.
I’ve been going to Dr. Mark since I first arrived in San Pedro – introduced by some friends of mine. There are actually quite a few dentists in San Pedro to choose from…but this is about pictures not useful information!
But I will add that I have no cavities. Phew.
Apparently you only need to floss the day before you go to the dentist. Woo hoo!
I finished my exam, the dental assistant made the remaining patients margaritas and fresh coconut waters and we waited for the boat.
Another gorgeous February day on the best island in the world.
Dr. Mark and his wife Joan are great! I went to them for a cleaning last year and was very impressed. I am a dental weenie so requested nitrous for the procedure, so there were plenty of laughs during the procedure, and I felt very comfortable there. Wish I could go back there for my next appointment — it was fun to ride to and from the dentist on my beach bike.
ever had yur teeth worked on by ”kissy kiddy”….?
Nope. Dr. Mark is the only dentist I’ve been to on the island.
hmmmm i might have to chek him out…soon.
Is he cash only?
I would think they prefer cash but since they own a hotel too, you can probably work out something else.
Can you tell me what the cost is vs. dentist in US.
