San Pedro Scoop: My Best of 2013 – Part Four & A Bit of Christmas
I’m no longer going to apologize for the endless quality this series is taking on. I’m just going to dive back into it. I hope everyone had a very very Merry Christmas. Mine took place at a beautiful beach front condo south of town…
lobster & steak,
really great friends that I’m lucky to have down here (as well as odd and awesome Christmas gifts – only here can you get a beach towel from your local poultry shop.)
Quality Poultry, run by the Mennonites in Spanish Lookout, has a great slogan. Dis da fi wi chikin. Or This is the chicken for we! Our chicken…you get it.
THEY NEED TO SELL T-SHIRTS!
I finished off PART THREE flying back from Cancun to San Pedro with Tropic Air in mid-October.
I don’t care what you say about Cancun…I have found many reasons to love it. Eight in fact.
Back in Belize, I went to the unveiling of the 2014 Belikin calendar, a tour of the brewery and the signing party at the Princess Hotel in Belize City.
And there was one of the biggest holidays and parties of the year in San Pedro. Halloween. For people…
We had an amazing night tasting every single dish at Casa Picasso Restaurant before the new opening. Tough, tough work…
Hurray! It’s now November. And I started the month sailing with Raggamuffin Tours from Caye Caulker to Placencia. One of the very best things I’ve done in Belize. AWESOME.
I spent a few days in beautiful Placencia when I returned and at my favorite restaurant in Belize. Maya Beach Bistro.
And I did NOT attempt the frisbee challenge at the Barefoot Bar…
I returned through San Ignacio and then went to Belize City to see the WORLD CUP! On it’s very first visit to Belize.
I won the ticket from my cellphone provider!
My friend Jackie and I then went all the way south to Punta Gorda, Belize. And had one amazing stay at Hickatee Cabins and loved PG. On the first morning, we woke up for the dawn Garifuna Settlement celebrations. (For all the posts on Punta Gorda: MayaBags, food, the celebrations, the Living Maya Experience, check out: Punta Gorda.)
Just a day after I returned on the express bus from Punta Gorda, it was off on the FIRST Tropic Air International Flight from Belize City to Roatan, Honduras. Amazing 50 minute flight high over Belize’s south cayes…
And Roatan just has so much going on. 2 days was NOT enough.
Wow. Busy in November. Hope you all had an amazing Christmas and can enjoy your Boxing Day today.
Keep it classy.
