Getting Married in Belize! Helda and Robbie Wed PLUS A Bonus Wedding

Getting married on Ambergris Caye promises white sand, tropical flowers, warm breezes, aqua blue water, happy guests, probably a little Bob Marley (“I wanna love you, every day and every night”) and yes, plenty of rum punch.  Yesterday was a Leap Year, a special day to get married…but it was doubly special since Helda and Robbie, the owners of the popular Roadkill Bar GOT MARRIED on the beach.  And lots of San Pedranos were in attendance.

But let’s back up.  We pulled up to park at the hotel/resort next door to the wedding site…at Carribean Villas…and ANOTHER wedding was happening.  This hotel is a fantastic spot to be married.  A very cute palapa bar and fantastic beach front location, the wedding was just getting started.

The steel drums were playing.  It was gorgeous.  And maybe my favorite part…the bride was wearing a short dress.  Mini skirt.  She looked beautiful.  And the couple was clearly in love.  The kiss lasted and lasted…

On to the wedding I was actually invited to!  My favorite wedding officiator was there.  Go Eiden!

Helda and Robbie met on the island…and fell in love.  Here are ALL the pictures that I took.  Naomi was a bridesmaid…super cute.

Helda’s vows were amazing.  About meeting her best friend on the island…at Pedro’s Inn…over a pizza.  About the marriage being one to her and to her daughter Bella.  Yeah, so what!  I was weepy.

And they posed for photos.  Lots of photos.

Everyone was dressed UP!  (except me…)  People looked gorgeous.  And Marie in particular (one to the right)…I had a big girl crush on her last night.  Her dress was amazing.

The karaoke took off…such a fun party.
